  • Butterfly Effect Award

What is the Butterfly Effect? A term coined by the chaos theory that suggests that wing movements of one butterfly may have significant repercussions on wind strength and movements throughout the weather systems of the word, and, theoretically, could cause tornadoes halfway around the world. The name of the award was inspired by the heartfelt words of Peter Milewski to describe his beloved daughter, the late Carolyn Ouellette, a Hingham mom active in community service. "Carolyn and other Hingham moms make amazing things happen both in this town and also in communities around the world," says the HMC Co-President Liz Deininger. "This award is designed to recognize the amazing work that mothers do on a daily basis to make our local and larger community a better place." Nominate a deserving Hingham mother who has improved our community through service. Nominee does not need to be a HWC member but does need to live in Hingham. Currently not accepting nominees. 2015 - 4th Annual Butterfly Effect Award Winner Joan Bennett 2014 - 3rd Annual Butterfly Effect Award Winner Amy Cowan 2013 - 2nd Annual Butterfly Effect Award Winner Lisa Patterson 2012 - 1st Annual Butterfly Effect Award Winner Dana Donnelly
